Gimar limped back from the Keep commander's office, eager to be on his way. He met up with Nicola in the hallway.

Nicola Leg still bothering you?
Gimar Yeah, it's pretty sore. We'll be riding all day, so I'm not worried.
Nicola What if you have to jump off and battle demons?
Gimar You've been talking to Rheaphlyndar again, eh? I am pretty sure that fiend was down to his last hits when he pulled his little vanishing act. I'm thinking he won't be bothering us anytime soon.

The dwarven warrior hefted his axe, and Nicola wasn't so sure which of them Gimar meant when he said "us." There had been no dark visions or bad auguries, so the priestess smiled and headed for the stables.

The Biscuits Yodavan - Mage/Cleric 1st/1st (PC)
Locale Deep in the Gnarley Forest
Date 15th day of Wealsun, 585 CY (Common Year)
Time mid-day

The forest gnome was puttering away in his garden. His tomato plants were coming along nicely, and the Gorka root would soon be getting quite tasty. An acquaintance of his approached.

Tanner Hail, Yodavan, how's the garden?
Yodavan Ah Tanner, fine, fine. What's up?
Tanner There's somebody coming to see you. I had to guide him, since he's not much in the ways of the forest.
Yodavan Thank you, I will go put on my good cloak.

Shortly thereafter an ordinary gnome walked up to Yodavan's tiny gate and let himself in. Yodavan, now wearing a fine new cloak, appeared and greeted him.

Yodavan Welcome. I am Yodavan. You bring news, hmmm?
Wally I am Walter Ragsign Menphantassom, but most folks call me Wally. I bring news from the town of Northbank.
Yodavan I've heard of that town, go on.
Wally Your distant cousin Prudence is the Mayor there, and her century celebration is in a few weeks.
Yodavan Prudence, you say? Hmmm, going, I must be. Thank you, thank you.
Wally I can help you pack, if you like.
Yodavan No! No! For myself, I must pack. Ready then I will be. Hmmmm, Outside you must wait.

Wed - Mage 5th Level (NPC)
Locale Approaching Greyhawk
Date 15th day of Wealsun, 585 CY (Common Year)
Time late afternoon

The road to the Free City of Greyhawk was smooth and heavily travelled. Many merchant caravans were travelling both directions, heading either to or from mostly Dyvers or Hardby. Besides being patrolled, the road was more of a road than a dirt track.

Little John How far have we gone today?
Dollin Probably twenty-five miles.
Jaron All these merchants are going to mean excess traffic at the Highway Gate.
Rheaphlyndar Good point -- let's detour to the Marsh Gate.

When the spires of Greyhawk were in sight, the party detoured straight north to dirt road leading to the Marsh Gate. They found that the ground leading to this gate was littered with garbage and refuse, and they scared off quite a few sets of Giant Rats.

Wed Great choice, Rheaph.
Rheaphlyndar Okay, okay, we'll wait in traffic next time.
Jaron I wonder what boot cleaning goes for these days?

When the party arrived at the gate, the line was fairly long, so Rheaphlyndar headed to the gatehouse. The rest of the party rid themselves of garbage while they waited. The rogue returned fairly soon, motioning the party to the front of the line.

Dollin Who do you know, anyhow?
Rheaphlyndar I managed to procure some speed passes from a friend in the city watch. Now if you'll all just step over here . . .

Soon enough the party entered the city. They agreed to meet for dinner every other night, starting tomorrow, at the Blue Dragon Inn, a favorite haunt of the party in the past. With that, they went their separate ways.

The Biscuits Rheaphlyndar - Thief 8th Level (PC)
Locale Somewhere in the Artisan's Quarter
Date 16th day of Wealsun, 585 CY (Common Year)
Time morning

As Rheaphlyndar made his way to the Artisan's quarter, he thought of the previous evenings meal with Ravi.

Rheaphlyndar Man, that guy sure loves his spices.
Paris (answering the door) Go away, I don't . . . ah, Rheaplyndar! Come in, come in, it's been a while.
Rheaphlyndar (stepping inside) I've been out of town on business.
Paris And now you've brought the business to me, how lovely.
Rheaphlyndar It's mostly jewelry from out of town.
Paris Stolen, I presume.
Rheaphlyndar Guilty, but not entirely.
Paris You have no other defense?
Rheaphlyndar Well, for what its worth, I only stole from people who wouldn't go hungry.
Paris Ah, a burglar with a heart of gold. Okay, I'll see what I can do -- come back this afternoon.

The rogue wandered over to the high market to price invisibility potions and see if anybody was selling a Cloak of Apparel. He was sorely tempted by a fat merchant he saw, but decided he should meet his guild contact and pay this years dues first. In the late afternoon, he returned to the Artisan's quarter and picked up a pouch of fine gems. Coming out of the building he thought he spotted someone familiar.

Rheaphlyndar (Hey, I thought he was going to Northbank.)

Rounding the next corner, he concentrated on his eyepatch and stared at the familiar looking dwarf.

Rheaphlyndar (Yep, same three-in-one axe. Damn he moves fast. Hey, where's his limp?)

Indeed, the stout warrior had moved out of sight and when Rheaphlyndar made it to that cross street, there was no sign of him. Hefting the pouch, he gave up and headed instead to the Blue Dragon Inn.
