After leaving the Blue Griffon Inn, Rheaphlyndar wandered through the rectangular marketplace, eyeing the various carts and booths. He didn't notice many thieves standing around, but that could be normal for the early morning. He looked around or something to interest him, when he felt a distinct tug at his belt. A pickpocket?

Rheaphlyndar (smiling) Stop, thief!

He took off running after the rogue, only just catching sight of him. Slender, smallish, with good speed. The pickpocket just slipped around the corner.

When Rheaphlyndar rounded the same corner, he was a bit surprised to see a dead-end alley. Smiling, he glanced up and spotted the young . . . girl? Still, it was the same thief, that was for sure.

Rheaphlyndar's greater stamina and superior acrobatics allowed him to catch the waif on the next rooftop.

Rheaphlyndar (breathing hard) I believe you have something that is mine.

Yodavan's curiousity got the better of him and, shortly after leaving the Blue Griffon he wandered into the Gray Ghost and found himself invited into a card game. His opponents were mostly old gamblers, living from lucky streak to lucky streak. One of the gentlemen he played against, however, was obviously used to winning.

Nigel Stay in, Salas.
Salas (sweating) I can't do it, I fold.
Yodavan (raking in another pot) Only silver, it is.
Nigel What did you beat him with?
Yodavan (showing his hand) Here you go.
Nigel Nothin'! He beat you with nothin'!
Yodavan (smiling) Sometimes nothin' a real cool hand can be.

Nicola first hit the market, but was not too impressed. Earlier she had seen Rheaphlyndar also, but he seemed to have left. Heading into the main town, she found no shrine to Pelor, only to the Suloise goddess Lydia.

Not wanting to let her cloudy mood go any further, she decided good works were due, and headed outside the town to the poor section. She quickly had a throng of underprivileged folk around her, and in return for the good works she received a delicous home cooked meal.

Gimar wandered throught the market to the larger buildings in the back. A grizzled axe-merchant noticed the dwarves interest in his wares, but was unable to sell any, despite his best efforts. Finally, he gave up and offered Gimar a bit of advice.

Merchant Well, you've got a discerning eye towards weapon quality. Perhaps you should meet with Hengel instead.

The dwarven warrior got directions to Hengel's shop and eventually found it. The shop was directly next to a busy smithy, where a pair of Suloise journeymen were working on arrowheads. Gimar continued into the shop, and spotted a gnarled old dwarf polishing weapons with an oily cloth.

Hengel Goodag. How to serve a stranger from . . . Vild Coste?
Gimar Greyhawk actually, but I hail originally from the Lortmils.
Hengel Zsoo, vat brinks you to my shop?
Gimar I have a fine quality battle axe here, and I want to see about adding an enchantment.
Hengel Der dwveemer verk ist for vizards. Let me see der veppon.
Gimar (handing over the axe) It was made by the smith Grimli, formerly of Karakast.
Hengel (examing the blade) Hmmm, mit zpells dis veppon could zlize demin or deffil mit easyness. Mebbe you zell it to me?
Gimar (ignoring the question) Can you tell me where I could get this blade enchanted?
Hengel Yah, sure! Ze best dwarfen smiths neffer left Irongate, und their best enchanters are ztill there. I am zure we coult make zome deal, though . . .
Gimar Alright, let's talk.

Jaron found the town interesting, but not too interesting, and with very few paladins about. He walked through the upper district of town, but was equally unimpressed with the inhabitants. The walking felt good, however, so he continued out the city gate and around the walls. To the west was a road leading through a small halfling village, so he went to the east instead.

The rolling hills were covered in a verdant green, and the warm light of Pelor shone down upon him.

Shortly he came to a cart track, leading into the poor section of town, where he thought he spotted Nicola. He continued a little farther to the north-east, and now to the north he could see the shipyards, with at least three galleys under construction.

Just a bit further east the hills sloped down towards the ruins of a small castle, and hailing a passing goatherd he learned that it was named Larkirn in it's day, long ago.

Jaron I'll have to remember to ask a bard about that tonight.
Goatherd (waving) Be seeing you.

Dollin wandered through the down the main road and found himself drawn to the right, ending up in the city garden. It was situated next to the wall, and contained flagstone paths leading around small groves of hornwood, walnut, and yew. The ground cover consisted of ferns and many other bushes, including a few species he recognized from his home forest, the Celadon.

Dollin Say, why is the northern entrance bricked up? And whose idea was it to top the wall with those sharp blades?
Gardener Och, we had some troubles a while back, see.
Dollin Do tell.
Gardener There were these giants, see, terrorizing the neighborhood and stealing gems.
Dollin I see.

The druid walked away, thinking on the equality of nature and the changing perspective of town ownership. Dollin wandered until he nearly reached the north wall, where he was surprised to find a small wooden structure framing a marble statue of an beautiful female elven ranger, armed with a longbow and dagger, with a newborn unicorn at her feet.

Dollin (falling to his knees) Ehlonna.
